Gaza Civil Defense Recovers 94 Bodies

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Gaza Civil Defense announced that it had recovered the remains of 94 Palestinians from beneath the rubble in the enclave.

According to the statement, the bodies were found in central Gaza City and transferred to the forensic unit at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, where arrangements were made for burial in the Martyrs’ Cemetery located in Deir al-Balah.

Authorities noted that thousands of Palestinians are still thought to be trapped under the debris of demolished buildings since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza in October 2023.

Civil Defense explained that, in coordination with the ministries of health and religious endowments, thousands of bodies previously buried in scattered locations have been relocated to cemeteries across the territory.

Reports further indicate that Israel has killed nearly 70,700 individuals—primarily women and children—and wounded more than 171,100 others in Gaza since October 2023, before the offensive was halted under the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on Oct. 10.
