Israeli Strikes on Southern Lebanon Leaves Three Dead
The attack targeted a car traveling along the Aqtnit–Quneitra road in the Sidon district, Lebanon’s state-run media reported.
Israeli authorities had not issued an immediate response regarding the strike.
The incident comes as tensions continue to escalate in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli military has stepped up near-daily air operations inside Lebanese territory. Israel says these raids are aimed at Hezbollah fighters and military assets.
Israel and Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire in November 2024 following more than a year of cross-border hostilities linked to the war in Gaza. The violence left more than 4,000 people dead and at least 17,000 wounded.
Under the terms of the agreement, Israeli forces were expected to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by January. However, the pullout has remained incomplete, with Israeli troops still stationed at five military outposts along the border.
