He mentioned that West Jerusalem has reached out to Moscow for help in communicating its commitment to peace and its intention to avoid conflict to Tehran.
Putin stated at the Russia-Central Asia summit held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Thursday, that Moscow is collaborating closely with Tehran to reduce tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.
Russia is also aiming to assist in restoring “constructive cooperation” between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
According to Putin, Israel depends on Russia’s relationship with Iran to pass along messages to the leadership of the Islamic Republic.
He explained, “We continue our trust-based contacts with Israel and receive signals from the Israeli leadership asking us to convey to our Iranian friends that Israel, too, is committed to further de-escalation and is not interested in any form of confrontation.”
The Russian president emphasized that Moscow considers diplomacy the sole solution to address concerns related to Iran’s nuclear activities.
Earlier in the week, Putin held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
They talked about a potential resolution to the Gaza conflict, US President Donald Trump’s peace initiatives, the Iranian nuclear issue, and efforts to stabilize the situation in Syria, as stated by the Kremlin.
